The neoplasm is composed of nests and trabeculae (predominantly), with a few variably ectatic tubules resembling the ductular epithelium. Neoplastic cells forming the nests and trabeculae are closely-packed, with indistinct cell borders, and a moderate amount of amphophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is central, medium-sized to large, and normochromatic. Numerous mitoses are identified, even at this low magnification. Cells forming the tubules are columnar, have a basal nucleus and have a large amount of acidophilic cytoplasm. |
