Neoplastic cells show nuclear palisading at the periphery of the trabeculae. They are large, polygonal to fusiform, with indistinct cell borders and with a moderate to large amount of amphophilic to acidophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is central, oval, medium-sized and slightly hypochromatic. An area of squamous differentiation is present at the center of the figure. Squamous metaplasia is common in myoepitheliomas. |
