Haired skin - Normal tissue: There is mild labeling of eosinophils in the dermis (tissue fixed in Fekete's solution, heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer, pH=6.0, 1:150 dilution). There is moderate background in the connective tissue, skeletal muscles, and hair follicles. There is also strong non-specific labeling macrophages due to the persistance of endogenous peroxidase activity. Other antibodies allow more appropriate detection of eosinophils in paraffin-embedded tissues. |
