Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Two pulmonary arteries contain large emboli, the center of which has undergone coagulation necrosis. FVB/N mice transgenic for neu uncommonly develop metastases to the lungs. When metastases occur, they consist of large emboli that seldom invade the pulmonary parenchyma. Large emboli may ultimately rupture the wall of the artery and invade the pulmonary parenchyma.
