Pathology Image Detail

Caption

The tubules are lined by a one-cell thick cuboidal epithelium where neoplastic cells occasionally pile-up disorderly. They have indistinct cell borders and a small to moderate amount of strongly amphophilic cytoplasm. Their nucleus is central, oval, medium-sized and normochromatic. Mitotic rate is high. The stroma is made of bundles of plump cells and is diffusely infiltrated by a small number of lymphocytes. Some of these plump cells can be shown to be positive for keratin by immunohistochemistry, which indicates that they are of epithelial origin.
