Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Colon: the colonic epithelium is focally thickened. There is, arising in the upper portions of the colonic mucosa, a minute colonic adenoma characterized by the formation of a few glands with a more basophilic and more mitotically active epithelium than nearby colonic glands. Other changes consist of mild to moderate interstitial lymphocytic and plasmacytic inflammation, mild interstitial fibrosis, and mild to moderate hyperplasia of the adjacent colonic epithelium.
