Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Small intestine: a ?2 mm in width papillary mass arises from the intestinal epithelium. This mass is composed of slender papillae lined by a one cell-thick columnar epithelium supported by a small amount of fibrovascular stroma. Neoplastic cells are columnar with a moderate amount of amphophilic cytoplasm. Except in the deepest portions of the adenoma, neoplastic cells seldom contain mucin droplets. The superficial portions of the neoplasm are eroded.
