Small intestine: a small pedunculated mass is arising from the intestinal epithelium. This mass is composed of contoured and anastomosed glands supported by a small amount of fibrovascular stroma. The glands are lined by a one cell-thick columnar epithelium where neoplastic cells occasionally pile-up up to 3 cells-thick. There are numerous mitoses. Neoplastic cells have a moderate amount of amphophilic cytoplasm. There is no evidence of invasion in the submucosa. |
