Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Osteosarcoma: the neoplasm is composed of thick trabeculae separated by sinusoids. A few trabeculae are replaced by neoplastic osteoid. The neoplastic osteoid contains oat-shaped cells, which are reminiscent of osteocytes. Neoplastic cells, except in the areas of osteoid deposition, are medium-sized, histiocytoid, with ill-defined cell borders and a moderate amount of strongly acidophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is central, medium-sized, oval, and normochromatic. Anisocytosis and anisokaryosis are mild to moderate.
