Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Liver: sinusoids are multifocally moderately distended by large neoplastic histiocytoid cells. Many of these cells contain erythrocytes and hemosiderin, indicating active erythrophagocytosis by neoplastic cells. Neoplastic cells are large, histiocytoid, with indistinct cell borders and with a large amount of acidophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is central, large, oval, occasionally with an indented nuclear membrane, normochromatic, with a coarsely clumped chromatin, and with 1-2 small basophilic nucleoli. Anisokaryosis and anisocytosis are moderate to marked. Mitoses are not detected.
