Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Haired skin: the skin is focally thickened by a plaque-like, unenecapsulated, densely cellular neoplasm arising from the epidermis and gradually blending into the adjacent epidermis. This neoplasm is composed of thick trabeculae and large nests with central squamous metaplasia supported by a moderate to large amount of moderately inflamed fibrovascular stroma (scirrhous reaction). Small clusters of neoplastic cells are present at the deep margins of the neoplasm (arrowhead) but do not invade beyond the subcutaneous muscle.
