Paravertebral skeletal muscles: the neoplasm is composed of closely packed whirling and streaming bundles supported by a moderate amount of fibrovascular stroma. This photomicrograph illustrates the most common phenotype of neoplastic cells in this neoplasm. Neoplastic cells are small to medium-sized, fusiform to oat-shaped, with ill-defined cell borders and a small amount of fibrillar acidophilic cytoplasm.
