Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Paravertebral skeletal muscles: the neoplasm is composed of closely packed whirling and streaming bundles supported by a moderate amount of fibrovascular stroma. This photomicrograph represents an area of skeletal muscle differentiation, a feature which was uncommon in this neoplasm. A few neoplastic cells are large, are multinucleated, with the nuclei located at the periphery of the cell, and they have a large amount of strongly acidophilic cytoplasm. Anisocytosis is prominent in this portion of the neoplasm.
