Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Undifferentiated sarcoma, PTAH stain: PTAH stains positively identifies cross-striation in skeletal muscle fibers or tumors deriving from skeletal muscles. Cross-striation is easily identified in the fibers of the musculus panniculus carnosus entrapped by the neoplasm (used as a positive control).
NOTE: The absence of cross-striation in neoplastic cells stained with PTAH suggests that this tumor is not a rhabdomyosarcoma.
