Mammary gland: the mammary gland is effaced by a nodular, multilobular, partly encapsulated, invasive, densely cellular neoplasm which is associated with emboli (*) in nearby veins. Large areas of liquefactive necrosis are present at the center of the neoplasm. Neoplastic lobules are separated by a small amount of fibrovascular stroma, and are composed of solid areas and a few glands lined by a one cell-thick epithelium. Neoplastic small to medium-sized, cells are polygonal to cuboidal, with indistinct cell borders, and with a small to moderate amount of acidophilic cytoplasm. |
