Mammary gland: the mammary gland is effaced by a nodular, multilobular, partly encapsulated, invasive, densely cellular neoplasm which is associated with emboli in nearby veins. Neoplastic lobules are separated by a small amount of fibrovascular stroma, and are composed of solid areas and a few glands lined by a one cell-thick epithelium. Neoplastic small to medium-sized, cells are polygonal to cuboidal, with indistinct cell borders, and with a small to moderate amount of acidophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is oval, small to medium-sized, central, and normochromatic. Mitotic rate is elevated. |
