Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Mammary gland: "plaques" are discoid masses composed of radiating tubular structures which show ductal differentiation at the center of the nodule. The stroma is more abundant and edematous at the center of the nodule than at the periphery. The tubules are lined by a one cell-thick cuboidal to low columnar epithelium. The cells have indistinct cell borders and a moderate amount of acidophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is basal, oval, medium-sized, and hyperchromatic. There is no evidence of atypia and mitotic rate is low.
