Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Mammary gland: the mammary gland is effaced by a nodular, unencapsulated, densely cellular, polycystic mass. This mass is composed of papillae and glands with a prominent branching pattern. The epithelial structures generally are several cells-thick (up to 10 cells-thick) and are characterized by the formation of secondary lumens. Neoplastic cells are large, cuboidal to polygonal, with distinct cell borders and a large amount of strongly acidophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is central, oval, and medium-sized.
