Mammary gland: this photomicrograph illustrates a portion of the mammary gland that is lactational, hyperplastic, and shows prominent atypia. Many cells in this area are large and have a large hyperchromatic nucleus with a contoured nuclear membrane. These features are consistent with aneuploidy, a phenomenon that is commonly observed in tumors with altered expression of Trp53. |
