Glandular adenoma of the mammary gland: the neoplasm is composed of closely-packed glands lined by a one cell-thick cuboidal epithelium supported by a moderate amount of fibrovascular stroma. Most of these glands show mild to moderate ectasia and are filled by a proteinaceous fluid. Neoplastic cells have indistinct cell borders and a moderate amount of acidophilic cytoplasm that often contains numerous lipid vacuoles and proteinaceous droplets of various sizes. The nucleus is often basal, round, and hyperchromatic. Anisokaryosis and anisocytosis are moderate. Mitoses are not found in this field. |
