Pathology Image Detail

Caption

In situ mammary carcinoma: this represents an early stage of in situ mammary carcinoma: the architecture of the mamamry gland is preserved but mammary lobules are packed with epithelial cells and often lack a lumen. Numerous cells in the mammary gland are round, have a very pale cytoplasm with a ground glass appearance, and have a medium-sized hypochromatic nucleus. These features are consistent with the features of a primitive epithelial cell. There is mild to moderate interstitial lymphocytic and plasmacytic inflammation.
