Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Solid mammary adenocarcinoma: this photomicrograph illustrates the morphology of a portion of the neoplasm with a solid phenotype. A few secondary lumens are present. Neoplastic cells are polygonal, with indistinct cell borders and a moderate amount of homogeneous acidophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is central, medium-size, round to oval, and normochromatic. Anisocytosis and anisokaryosis are mild. Mitoses are numerous. There is no evidence of myoepithelial differentiation at the periphery of the neoplastic lobule.
