Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Papillary mammary adenocarcinoma: the neoplasm is composed of closely-packed papillae lined by a one cell-thick cuboidal epithelium supported by a moderate amount of dense fibrovascular stroma. Neoplastic cells often pile-up disorderly. Neoplastic cells are cuboidal to polygonal, with ill-defined cell borders and a moderate amount of acidophilic cytoplasm that often contains lipid vacuoles. The nucleus is central, round, medium-size, normochromatic, with a clumped chromatin and 1-2 small (generally) to medium size bacophilic nucleoli. Anisokaryosis is moderate. Anisocytosis is mild. Numerous neoplastic cells undergo apoptosis. The stroma is fibrous.
