Type P tumors: neoplastic cells form thick trabeculae and ducts separated by a small amount of fibrovascular stroma. Most of the mitotic activity is concentrated in the trabecular portions of the neoplasm. Neoplastic cells are cuboidal to polygonal, with indistinct cell borders and a moderate amount of strongly acidophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is central, oval, slightly hypochromatic, with a clumped chromatin and 1-3 small basophilic nucleoli. Anisokaryosis and anisocytosis are mild. Occasional myoepithelial differentiation is present in the ducts (arrowheads). |
