Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Mammary gland: the neoplasm is composed, at its' periphery, of radiating frond-like structures resembling terminal end buds of the developing mammary gland separated by a small to moderate amount of moderately dense stroma. These frond like structures are cavitated and resemble ducts that show various degrees of dilation towards the center of the neoplasm.

Description

Type P tumor (uncommon variant), mammary gland

Age at Necropsy

364 days

Notes

Type P tumors are characterized by the formation of frond-like structures that resemble terminal end buds of the mammary gland. This tumor is unusual in that the fronds are smaller although more numerous than usual, and that ductal differentiation is less conspicuous than in most type P tumors.
