Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Mammary gland: neoplastic lobules are separated by a small amount of loose fibrovascular stroma. The stroma further subdivides the lobules that are composed of closely-packed glands, tubules, trabeculae, and a few small solid areas. Glands and tubules are lined by a one cell thick cuboidal epithelium and are centered on a small lumen. Neoplastic cells are cuboidal to polygonal, with indistinct cell borders, and a small to moderate amount of amphophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is central, medium-size, round, normochromatic, and with 1-3 small basophilic nucleoli. Anisokaryosis and anisocytosis are minimal. Mitoses are numerous.
