Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Pancreas: there is severe diffuse interstitial fibrosis with marked atrophy of the exocrine pancreas. The exocrine pancreas that has survived fibrosis has undergone ductal metaplasia and shows small multifocal areas of hyperplasia. Hyperplastic portions of the exocrine pancreas do not show evidence of zymogene production. There is moderate diffuse hyperplasia of islet cells (*).
