Pancreas: a small, nodular, expansile, unencapsulated, well-delineated, densely cellular neoplastic mass is present in the pancreas. This neoplasm is composed of nests and trabeculae separated by a small to moderate amount of loose fibrovascular stroma with large cystic blood-filled vascular spaces. Neoplastic cells are monomorphous, closely-packed, small, with indistinct cell borders and with a small amount of pale basophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is central, round, normochromatic, with a stippled to clumped chromatin, and occasionalyy a medium-sized basophilic to magenta nucleolus. Mitotic figures are numerous. Anisocytosis and anisokaryosis are minimal. |
