Pathology Image Detail

Caption

Macrocyst, immunohistochemistry for alpha smooth muscle actin: there is no evidence of myoepithelial differentiation withing the macrocyst (right portion of the photomicrograph). A discrete layer of myoepithelial cells lines acini and ducts (*) in the mammary parenchyma adjacent to the macrocyst. Lactation is present in the mammary parenchymal adjacent to the macrocyst.
