Glandular/solid adenocarcinoma: most of the neoplasm was composed of areas with a glandular phenotype (right portion of the photomicrograph), although a few solid portions were present, too (left portions of the photomicrograph). Neoplastic cells in glandular areas form small contoured and anastomosed glands lined by a one cell-thick cuboidal epithelium and supported by a moderate amount of fibrovascular stroma. Neoplastic cells in the solid areas form thick anastomosed trabeculae with inconspicuous secondary lumens and supported by a scant amount of loose fibrovascular stroma. Neoplastic cells are cuboidal to polygonal, with indistinct cell borders and a moderate amount of amphophilic cytoplasm. |
