Glandular adenocarcinoma: this high power photomicrograph is representative of a glandular portion of the tumor. Neoplastic cells form small contoured and anastomosed glands lined by a one cell-thick cuboidal epithelium and supported by a moderate amount of fibrovascular stroma. Neoplastic cells are cuboidal to polygonal, with indistinct cell borders and a moderate amount of amphophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is central, round, hypochromatic, with a stippled chromatin and 1 large central basophilic nucleolus. Anisokaryosis and anisocytosis are mild. A moderate number of mitoses are present. |
