Description

spinal cord rhabdomyosarcoma

Age at Necropsy

655 days

Notes

There is a space occupying lesion extending from the muscle surrounding the dorsal vertebral body effacing the bone and compressing the spinal cord. This pressure caused damage to the cord (malacia). The neoplasm is localized with no evidence of metastases. It appears to be a poorly differentiated sarcoma, possibly a rhabdomyosarcoma arising from the surrounding skeletal muscle.
