This is the oral mucosa from an 849 day old male C57BL/10J mouse. There is foreign body (hair) periodontitis (hair impaction around the molars extending into the aveolus) associated with invading islands of well differentiated stratified squamous epithelium. This is a locally invasive, well differentiated, squamous cell carcinoma.
