Description

harderian gland adenoma

Age at Necropsy

816 days

Notes

This is the eye and Harderian gland behind the eye from a 816 day old male PWD/PhJ mouse. Note the remnants of the eye with inflammation. They was proptosed due to the large harderian gland adenoma. The neoplasm appears to be retained within the orbit and is well differentiated. However, there are a moderate number of mitotic figures per high powered field suggesting that this might have progressed to an adenocarcinoma.
