 This is the pituitary gland from the base of the brain of a 982 day old male RIIIS/J mouse. Note the middle lobe, pars intermedia of the pituitary gland is enlarging and compressing the anterior and posterior lobes. It is still well differentiated and not aggressively invading surrounding tissues. It is diagnosed as a pituitary gland pars intermedia adenoma.
