Description	jejunum polyp
Age at Necropsy	398 days
Notes	This is the jejunum from a 398 day old male KK/HIJ mouse. Note the cup shaped proliferative lesion. The mucosa is thrown into papillary folds of cells with a high mitotic index. This is a jejunal polyp. While these are common and numerous in the Apc heterozygous mutant mice they are usually solitary and rare in wildtype mice of the major inbred strains.

General Note: Inbred strain. This strain is homozygous for Cdh23ahl, the age related hearing loss 1 mutation, which on this background results in progressive hearing loss with onset after 10 months of age.
