The mammary parenchyma is entirely effaced by a densely cellular neoplasm composed of closely-packed acini (predominantly) and glands supported by a small amount of fibrovascular stroma. Numerous acini and glands undergo cystic degeneration and contain a moderate amount of pale amorphous proteinaceous material.
