Mammary gland: this is a densely cellular neoplasm composed of closely-packed small acini supported by a small amount of loose fibrovascular stroma. Mammary neoplasms with these histologic features in C3H/HeJ mice are signature for tumors induced by the Mouse Mammary Tumor Virus (MMTV).
NOTE: Most mammary adenocarcinomas in C3H mice are the result of infection by the Mouse Mammary Tumor Virus (MMTV).
