Liver, hepatocellular carcinoma: the neoplasm is composed of thick cords separated by sinusoids. Neoplastic cells are large, polygonal and contain a large amount of eosinophilic cytoplasm. The nucleus is large, oval, occasionally with a contoured nuclear membrane, and with a clumped chromatin. Anisokaryosis is marked and anisocytosis is moderate. Mitoses are rare.
