Liver: the neoplasm is composed of 2-3 cells-thick trabeculae separated by tortuous sinusoids. Neoplastic cells are large, polygonal, with indistinct cell borders, and with a moderate amount of strongly acidophilic cytoplasm which contains numerous ill-defined optically-empty vacuoles. The nucleus is central, large, generally oval, hyperchromatic, with a coarsely clumped chromatin and 1-3 small basophilic nucleoli. Anisocytosis is moderate. Anisokaryosis is marked. Mitoses are not found. |
