Vertebra: the neoplasm is predominantly composed of a pale acidophilic chondromatous matrix in which a small to moderate number of oval to stellate-shaped neoplastic cells are embedded. Within this matrix and at it's periphery, neoplastic cells are clustered around trabeculae of mineralized osteoid. Neoplastic cells have ill-defined cell borders, are oval to stellate, and have a small to moderate amount of pale basophilic to pale acidophilic cytoplasm which is variably vacuolated. The nucleus is central, oval and hyperchromatic. Anisocytosis and anisokaryosis are mild to moderate. |
