Panniculus: the neoplasm is composed of blood-filled vascular spaces of various size supported by a moderate amount of loose fibrovascular stroma which contains a moderate number of hemosiderin-ladden macrophages. The largest neoplastic vascular spaces are thrombosed. All vascular spaces are lined by a prominent endothelium. The largest vascular spaces have a thick wall which comprises spindloid cells interpreted as smooth muscle fibers, while the smallest vascular spaces have a thin wall. Neoplastic cells have a small to moderate amount of acidophilic cytoplasm, and a medium-sized to large oval nucleus. |
