Description

Harderian gland adenoma behind the eye

Age at Necropsy

646 days

Notes

This is a 646 day old female A/J mouse that has an Harderian gland adenoma behind the eye. The mass consists of well differentiated glandular tissue in which the acini are lined by large pale epithelial cells with abundant, fine, clear vacuoles. Some of these acini are ectatic (dilated) while others have a small lumen and the cells are less well differentiated and appear to be piled up. This is a benign adenoma of the Harderian gland.
