Haired skin - normal tissue. There is strong labeling (brown color) of the inner layer of the outer root sheath of all hair follicles (tissues fixed in Fekete'solution, 1:500 dilution, heat-mediated epitope retrieval in citrate buffer at pH=6.0). This section of the skin originates from the muzzle, which accounts for the presence of numerous melanocytes (black pigment) in the dermis. |
