Fig. 2C. Liver: this photomicrograph represents a portion of the liver with an acidophilic focus of hepatocytes (upper right corner of the photomicrograph) labeled for proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA). A moderate number of hepatocytes within the focus show intense nuclear labeling for PCNA. Hepatocytes in the nearby hepatic parenchyma do not label for PCNA. There is also marked vacuolation of the cytoplasm of hepatocytes located outside of the focus (hepatic lipidosis). |
